Participant at Walk – 2nd Woman: A special time to bring us all together and see all the families that are just like that. Today 1 in every 88 children is diagnosed with autism, the number may be even greater. Participant at Walk – 3rd Woman: There are so many more kids out there that are diagnosed being autistic, and it’s just amazing to see everybody’s help and support. There is much we do not know about autism, but we do know treatment can help. Participant at Walk – 4th Woman, continuing: You have to learn how to work with them and keep on doing it throughout the day. You can’t just sit around and wait for somebody to call you back ‘cause your name is on a list. You have to be very persistent, and you have to, like, really go out there and fight for the services for your kids. You can take action step by step.
